Beginnings

It's finally starting to feel like spring around here, which means it's time to get serious about this year's agricultural endeavors. There's still some snow on the ground, but the future garden site is clear and the garlic we planted last fall is coming up strong.

By this time next month, the rest of the garden beds should be in place with early season crops well on their way. With any luck we'll have the fences up by then to keep the deer and rabbits out. We've also got tree planting planned for this spring, and lots of landscape management to counteract last year's neglect.

Honestly, it's a little daunting to think about everything that needs to be done this year but it's also profoundly exciting. I'm hoping to find time among all the work to document the progress here, it seems like something worth recording.
